The Cardinals got the win against the Padres last night 6-3 in big thanks to David Freese and Carlos Beltran.  Freese sat for two games to tune his swing and came back with two hits, including a homer, and two RBI.  Also, Beltran hit his NL leading 14th homer of the season.  The Phillies are in town and open up their series with the Cards tonight at 7:15pm. Jake Westbrook takes the mound for the Cards.

NHL Eastern Conference action continued last night Devils beat the Rangers 5-3 and now take a 3-2 lead in that series.  The Devils were on fire early and scored 3 goals in the first period but gave it up in the third as the Rangers tied it.  But, the Devils got the game winning goal with less than 5 minutes in the third and scored an empty netter to get the victory.   Game 6 is tomorrow night.

The 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics 82-75 last night to tie their Eastern Conference semifinals series at 3-3 and force Game 7 on Saturday.  Tonight the Heat take on the Pacers in game 6 of their series at 7PM.  Miami currently is up on Indy 3 games to 2.

The London Olympics will get around 5,535 hours of coverage on NBC and it’s sister networks like MSNBC and NBCSPORTS.  A lot of that is airing simultaneously….but just think of it this way….5,535 hours breaks down to over 230 DAYS of COVERAGE!

And finally… Sprint Cup champion Rusty Wallace will be joining a group of five who were picked to head to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.  Joining Wallace in the hall is (listen to these names…) Herb Thomas, Cotton Owens, Buck Baker, and the man who created the modern day pit stop – Leonard Wood.
