In today’s SPORTS we chat about the Cardinals, the Blues releasing their playoff round 2 action. The NFL draft is tonight…and the Charlotte Bobcats are SUPER terrible!
The Cardinals avoided the sweep yesterday with a 5-1 win over the Cubs. Help came from David Freese who jacked a 2 run homer and Carlos Beltran’s RBI double. Lance Lynn picks up the win and is now 4-0. The Cards are off today and then welcome the Brewers to Busch Stadium for a series against Milwaukee on Friday. Jake Westbrook will get the start for the Cards Friday night.
The Blues have released their schedule for their next series against the Kings. Game 1 will be Saturday at the Scottrade with Game 2 on Monday before heading to L.A. Times are still TBD but we’ll keep you posted. One game last night in the NHL and it was an awesome game 7. The Washington Capitals have eliminated the defending champs – the Boston Bruins with a 2-1 overtime win. Two more game sevens tonight…the Rangers take on the Senators in New York and the Devils are in Florida to wrap up their series with the Panthers. You can see all the NHL schedule of games HERE.
It’s officially here – the 2012 NFL Draft kicks off tonight. Coverage on ESPN has probably already started but the draft is set for a 7PM start. Andrew Luck will go first overall to the Colts and Robert Griffin III will head to Washington with the two pick…and then a lot of mock drafts differ with the final top 8. As far as the Rams it looks like they will be picking WR Justin Blackmon if he still is available. You can check out a bunch of analysts MOCK drafts by CLICKING HERE.
Another quick NFL note..the fans have spoken. Calvin Johnson will be on the cover of Madden 2013. The final two were Lions WR Johnson and Panthers QB Cam Newton. Now Lions fan can wait to see if the Madden curse continues with Megatron.
And finally – the Charlotte Bobcats are terrible. And even that’s an understatement. The team currently has 7 wins….and 58 losses….ALL YEAR. If the team loses to New York when they play the Knicks in Charlotte, they will hold the new NBA record for the WORST winning percentage in a regular season and finish the year with a 23 game LOSING streak. The 1972 76ers went 9 and 73 and had a .110 winning percentage…..the Bobcats this year? With the loss to New York…will hold a .106. Congrats Charlotte!
