The big news from yesterday was the NFL draft.  As expected, the Colts took Andrew Luck followed by Robert Griffin III going to Washington.  After that – things were shook up a bit.  Cleveland traded for Trent Richardson, the Vikings to offensive tackle Matt Kalil and the Jags traded up to get Justin Blackmon.  So what did the Rams do?  They traded their pick to Dallas and ended up drafting defensive tackle Michael Brockers with the 14th overall pick.  You can see the full Round 1 draft order and see what folks are saying about the picks on today’s blog.  Round 2 continues today.

Two exciting game sevens last night.  The Devils are moving on to take on the Flyers in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after eliminating Florida in double overtime yesterday.  And, the Rangers knock out the Senators after their 2-1 win last night in New York.  Tonight it’s the start of the second round as Nashville will take on Phoenix…and then tomorrow it’s on.  With today being dubbed “St Louis Blues Day” by Mayor Francis Slay…the Kings will be in town tomorrow to take on the Blues.  Puck is scheduled to drop at 6:30 at the Scottrade.

Cardinals in action tonight against the Brewers to kick off a weekend series.  Jake Westbrook will get the start for the Cardinals.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:15pm.  In case you’re wondering…tomorrow’s Cardinals game is scheduled for 12:05 so it doesn’t look like there will be too much chaos downtown…but city officials are still putting out a warning to expect major delays on Metrolink and plan accordingly.

The Bobcats have made history!  Unfortunately it’s definetly NOT the type of history you want to make…the lost last night to the Knicks and now hold the record for the WORST winning percentage in NBA history.  They finished with a record of 7 and 59 and hold a .106 winning percentage.  That tops the 1972 Philly team who had a .110 winning percentage.  Again – congrats Charlotte.

And finally – check out this video on the blog of a high school hockey game in Massachusetts.  It shows on player getting CRUSHED by another and now….the parents of the player who was on the receiving end (who ended up with a concussion) is looking to file assault and battery charges against the player.  It’s a BRUTAL hit…but you be the judge…is it worthy of an assault charge.
