In today’s SPORTS we chat about the nightmare that was the Blues game last night. We also chat some news around the MLB and ANOTHER NBA playoff fail!
The Blues and Kings met for Game 2 of their series at the Scottrade last night…and it was ugly quick. After taking a 4-0 lead in the first, the Blues only managed to put two in the net as the Kings win game two 5-2. They now take a 2 games to none lead back to L.A for game three on Wednesday. In other playoff action, the Washington Capitals beat the Rangers 3-2 to tie up that series 1-1. Tonight’s action has New Jersey looking to even up their series against the Flyers who currently are up 1-0.
Some quick MLB notes. The Detroit Tigers have announced that Delmon Young has been suspended by the league for seven games after his New York incident. He will also be required to take anger management classes as per MLB. Young’s suspension is 7 games, retroactive to last Friday. He has since apologized to his teammates and fans.
Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers had a career day yesterday. Dude hit 3 homeruns and a triple in the Brewers 8-3 over the Padres. Braun, who had a total of 6 RBI, would actually still be serving his suspension for failing the leagues performance enhancing drug test, if the decision was not held up by league officials after improper handling of the test. It was the first time a player has hit 3HRs in a game at Petco Park.
Final MLB note: The Cardinals take on the Pirates tonight at Busch. Adam Wainwright takes the mound for the Cardinals. I will be at Busch as gates open for the first Battle At Busch in the Ford Plaza. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15PM.
This is hilarious…Pittsburgh Steelers first round pick David DeCastro got a phone call from who he thought was the Steelers Travel Coordinator who congratulated him on being draft. After a brief thank you, DeCastro began asking him questions about his flight plans. It was only after a few seconds the “Travel Coordinator” made it very clear…he had a more important role on the team…it was actually starting QB Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben said he will “get him good” when training camp opens.
So yesterday we talked about Derrick Rose of the Bulls going out with a torn ACL and being done for the playoffs…and now the Knicks have their own Playoff Fail. A frustrated Amare Stoudemire left the court after their loss to the Heat last night and in the back of the arena, punched a glass fire extinguisher case…which in turn SHATTERED, and cut him wide open. Paramedics stitched Amare up and he will miss Game 3 and possibly miss ALL of the series against the Heat. Great job A-hole.
