Today’s DISCOUNT NEWS has us talking a couple updates and of course, a BUNCH of creeper stories in the news. A mother effer, and a PASTOR that has some cameras in the TOILET?! GROSS! Plus, we talk PRISON RAPE and is the GAYDAR REAL?!
REMEMBER THIS STORY?! The California mother who was arrested after she was caught having sex with her 16-year-old son used Facebook to track the boy down. Mistie Atkinson, 32, reportedly had no contact with her son until last year when she began sending him inappropriate messages on the social networking site. The boy was living with his father at the time. Atkinson did not have custody rights to her son. Police said the teen had videos on his cell phone that showed his mother performing oral sex on him. They also recovered nude photographs Atkinson had sent her son as she began the illicit relationship earlier this year. It appears she hadn’t had any contact with the son for 15 years. She contacted him late last year via Facebook and was sending him messages inappropriately. The sexual contact began after police began responding to domestic violence reports between Atkinson and her boyfriend, with whom she lives in Nice, California. ((We thought she would look pretty hooshe…but…she doesn’t look that bad. At all really…but still…dude, IT’S YOUR MOM!))
HERE IS AN UPDATE ON THIS STORY: Mistie entered her plea Tuesday before Napa County Superior Court Judge Ray Guadagni, in response to charges of incest, oral copulation with a minor, contact with a minor for sexual offense and sending harmful matter to the teen. Authorities arrested Atkinson in March after they found her in a hotel room with her biological 16-year-old son. According to Napa police, they found videos on the boy’s phone that showed Atkinson performing oral sex and having sexual intercourse with the teen. She’s also accused of sending sexually explicit images to the boy electronically
An Indiana pastor could be facing felony voyeurism charges after a congregation member found cameras installed in the women’s bathroom at his Lafayette church. Robert Lyzenga, 55, was arrested late last week on suspicion of voyeurism after a church member reported finding two cameras hidden in fake air fresheners in the bathroom stalls. Police found footage of two adult women and a juvenile girl using the restroom on the cameras’ memory cards.
Last week, the Obama administration ordered federal, state and local officials to adopt zero tolerance for prison rape, issuing mandatory screening, enforcement and prevention regulations. The rules, which have been under development since Congress passed the Prison Rape Elimination Act in 2003, were announced as the Bureau of Justice Statistics released its first-ever National Former Prisoners Survey. It found that just under 10 percent of former inmates said they’d been sexually victimized in jails, prisons and halfway houses, either by other inmates or by staff. Gay and bisexual men were by far the most targeted, with 39 percent of gay men and 34 percent of bisexual men reporting being sexually victimized by another inmate, while only 3.5 percent of heterosexual men reported incidents. Among women, lesbian and heterosexual women reported incidents with other inmates at the same rate of 13 percent.
Turns out GAYDAR isn’t a myth. We really DO have the ability to pick out who’s gay or straight when we see people. Even STRAIGHT people have it. A new study at the University of Washington had people of both genders and all sexual orientations look at photos of people’s faces, and decide whether those people were gay or straight. They recognized gay male faces 57% of the time. And they did even better at recognizing lesbian female faces . . . people in the study correctly identified 65% of lesbian faces. Only the people’s faces were visible . . . no other clues like hairstyle or clothing. The head muckity muck in charge of the study says we recognize people as gay or straight more often than we think, quote, “It may be similar to how we don’t have to think about whether someone is black or white.”
