The Cardinals attempted a late comeback last night, but it just wasn’t enough as they fell to the Astros 9-8 in Houston. Jamie Garcia just didn’t have it. Dude gave up 6 runs in the first two innings before being bounced from the game. Matt Adams and Rafael Furcal both went deep for the Cards in the loss. Two teams at it again tonight. First pitch scheduled for 7:05PM as Adam Wainwright takes the mound for St. Louis.
This sucks. Former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda suffered a minor heart attack on Monday, but sources say he will recover fully. He was in New York repping the Dodgers at the MLB draft when the attacked happened. It’s his second, with his first back in 1996. That is the one that took him out of the dugout. Lasorda, is 84 years old.
One final baseball note, players in the MLB All-Star game will for the first time, be able to TWEET from the Clubhouse during the All-Star game. But there is a catch, they will only be able to do the tweeting AFTER they are done playing. File this one under…NEAT.
The Celtics beat the Heat last night 94-90 to take a 3 games to 2 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. Chris Bosh made his return for the Heat since his injury put him on the sideline. Still no matter, Celts get the win. WE could see the first team move to the NBA finals if Oklahoma beats the Spurs tonight in Game 6 of the West Finals. The Thunder are up 3 games to 2.
Speaking of Chris Bosh, since he’s been hurt he’s had a masseuse that has come in to take care of his abdominal strain injury. She arrived about 10:30am on Monday morning to treat him, but passed out around noon. Cops were called, ambulance came, and the chick DIED in the hospital. Cops are saying there is no foul play…and she was recovering from being diagnosed with Cancer last year.
