The Cardinals dropped their opening game of an interleague series with the White Sox last night 6-1. It wasn’t pretty. It was close until about the 8th when the bullpen allowed 4 runs on the way to Chicago’s win. The two teams play again tonight as Lance Lynn goes for win #10 on the year. First pitch scheduled for 7:15PM.
The NBA finals kicked off last night with the Thunder getting the win over the Heat in game 1. Kevin Durant scored 17 of his 36 in the 4th quarter. Game two will be Thursday night in Oklahoma.
Last night in Yankees 6-4 win over the Braves…Alex Rodriguez hit his 23rd career Grand Slam. With the slam, he now sits tied with Lou Gehrig for an MLB record of most career grand slams. The feat comes on the 73rd anniversary of Gehrig’s last professional game. Kind of cool.
So as we talked about last week, Floyd Mayweather currently is serving jail time for hitting his baby mama in front of their kids. Well, he says his time could be killing his boxing career. He’s locked up for 23 hours per day and say he is dehydrated, lacks muscle tone, and is shrinking rapidly. He is begging a judge to allow the rest of his 3-month sentence to be served with house arrest and his doctors are actually agreeing with him. They say his diet is of main concern as he went from eating close to 4,000 calories a day to less than 800. Here’s an idea. Don’t commit a crime, and you wouldn’t have had to worry about any of this.
And finally…here is your weekly soccer news. The US tied Guatemala yesterday with a 1-1 tie in their World Cup Qualifier. Currently the 28th ranked US team leads their group with the top two teams advancing to next years regional finals.
