Ryan Nunes was arrested after showed up drunk to his public intoxication hearing. Talk about a repeat offender. A California man in court on charges of public intoxication was cuffed once again when he showed up buzzed to his hearing. Ryan Michael Nunes, 36, was stopped by deputies as he drunkenly stumbled through the security checkpoint at Stanislaus County Court in Modesto, Calif. “He wasn’t able to walk and his speech was very slurred,” Dep. Raj Singh of the county’s Sheriff Department told the station. Nunes argued with deputies as they told him to leave and sober up. The deputies threw Nunes out of the building but the 36-year-old remained on the steps on the courthouse, waiting to see a judge. “He was asked several times to leave. He refused to do so,” Singh said. The deputies put Nunes behind bars at a jail down the block for yet another charge of public intoxication. “Most of the time people don’t show up drunk. So this was an unusual case for us,” Singh added. Locals were amused by Nunes’ antics. “It’s pretty funny, and it’s sad too,” one resident told CBS. “It’s ridiculous. What do you do with a guy like that?” another said. Nunes has been arrested a least a dozen times on alcohol-related charges in the past decade. He is expected to return to court in the next several weeks.
