A Kentucky couple was arrested Thursday after being accused of trading their pickup truck for a baby.Jeremy and Jamiee Brown of Corbin were charged with human trafficking, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported. The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said the Browns swapped their 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck for their infant, and the baby’s biological mother, Heather Kaminskey, then sold the truck for $800.The Browns initially claimed the baby, now six months old, was the result of an extramarital affair between Jeremy Brown and Kaminskey. Police then questioned Kaminskey’s mother, who claimed that her daughter, wanted on meth charges, left Florida in January when she was nine months pregnant. The Sheriff’s Office said that Kaminskey previously had two children taken away and chose to have this baby in Kentucky to dodge Florida’s child-protection workers. The baby is in the custody of state child-welfare workers .The Browns could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted of human-trafficking, according to the Herald-Leader. Their three biological children are with relatives. A search continues for Kaminskey, who has been missing for days.
